Ten years of food and product safety – industry expert Intact celebrated its birthday

On February 15, the day before the start of BioFach, Intact held its 5th Intact Summit in Nuremberg. Intact clients and numerous other interested players from Europe and other countries further afield attended. The whole day was dedicated to the topic “Efficiency in audit management and traceability”, and included discussions on mutual technical experiences as well as presentations by industry experts.

Several interesting potential uses for electronic auditing were introduced to the participants, e.g. via web or smart phone, by experts from FLO-CERT (GER), CCOF (USA) and dawin GmbH (GER). Furthermore, Intact offered an insight into the issue of certifying individual people, a topic that is currently being implemented within a project at TÜV SÜD with the certification of training institutes and personnel. The second half of the Summit was dedicated to the topics of transparency and quality perspectives in the food chain. These were evaluated from different viewpoints: from a producer group’s point of view (Naturland, GER), from a processor’s point of view (Neumarkter Lammsbräu, GER) and from the retail’s point of view (REWE International AG, AUT). Both participants and the Intact team heard many valuable suggestions from the presentations and discussions that followed.

In the evening Intact took the opportunity to celebrate a very special event: its tenth anniversary. Intact looked back on ten very successful years in the business of quality assurance and product traceability.
The following day was the start of BioFach show where, as in previous years, Intact hosted its own booth and successfully presented its industry solutions.
