Ecert extends interfaces  - BRC, GLOBALGAP and QS

In quality management systems globalisation has led to an ever increasing demand in data exchange between units working in specific markets. On top of that, more and more quality management systems have become mandatory. Certification bodies, therefore, have to offer a growing number of programmes and services, and with each of these comes additional requirements and related costs. Accreditation requirements such as the training of auditors and certification officers, and the revision of forms and tables, need to be integrated into internal procedures and activities.
At the same time, owner of quality management systems require CBs to work directly in their databases. For the standard owner this has many advantages. For CBs this means not only working in several “foreign” databases but, even worse, having to enter the very same data into its own system.

Ecert can make this dilemma a thing of the past. All CBs’ auditors would work in Ecert and not in foreign systems. The data that need to be transferred to the standard owner or accreditation body are transferred automatically or manually with just one mouse click. Rhonda Wellik from Cert ID (USA) said: “Our productivity as a certification body has increased significantly due to the implementation of Ecert. Our auditors access and complete the BRC report through a web based portal [of Ecert]. Using Ecert’s interfacing capabilities Cert ID is also able to communicate directly with the BRC Directory, making it easy to share certification information.”
This means that there is no double entry of data and the company has full control of what data are reported to the foreign system. Interfaces are currently ready for GLOBALGAP, BRC and QS; and soon there will be more.
